Located right next to the fish market, this restaurant is a must-visit spot in Hokkaido to savor the very best of local seafood. The prices are on the higher side, but trust me—it’s absolutely worth it. 👏 The most famous dish here is without a doubt the Yoichi Uni Don (Sea Urchin Rice Bowl). True to its reputation, it offers four variations in one bowl: raw bafun uni (short-spined), raw murasaki uni (purple sea urchin), and both lightly torched versions. The uni is piled high like a mountain, and rice refills are free! ⭐️ Wrap some rice and uni in seaweed and take a bite—you’ll be amazed by the sweet, luxurious flavor with no fishiness at all. ✨ Bafun uni is relatively common, but murasaki uni has a richer flavor and is considered a rare delicacy even in Japan. It’s the kind of ingredient you’d normally only find at high-end sushi restaurants. That’s why I highly recommend going for the uni bowl that includes murasaki uni, even if it costs a bit more. 😉 Another must-try is the hair crab hamajiru soup, known for its rich, flavorful broth.
