If you order the wild-caught assorted sashimi (a random selection of fish freshly caught depending on the season and weather), you’ll be treated to incredibly fresh slices of fish the owner brings in every morning from the sea! The side dishes that come along include seaweed soup with rockfish, abalone sashimi, blanched octopus, sea cucumber, sea squirt, mullet, shrimp, white whelk, corn salad, and potato rice cake. (Side dishes may vary depending on the season and what's in prime condition.) For the thinly sliced sashimi with bones (saenggosi), you’ll enjoy it best when paired with homemade ssamjang made with millet and sorghum. The spicy cold raw fish soup (mulhoe) comes with green konjac noodles infused with seaweed (para konjac noodles). When eating mulhoe, it's best to place the noodles first on your plate, then add the mulhoe on top and mix them together. Despite the "jjamppong" name, it’s not because it tastes like spicy seafood noodle soup. Instead, the deep red color and fruity aroma come from a secret gochujang sauce made with beets and fruits. Thanks to the fruits, you'll notice a refreshing, fruity scent as you eat it.
