Manbok Soondae-guk
Channel Name: Gochuwasabi
Address
Description
This is a 24-hour sundaeguk (blood sausage soup) restaurant in Mokdong, famous for its generous portions—just like its name, Manbok Sundaeguk, which means “full of blessings.” Like most sundaeguk spots, a bowl automatically comes with rice. Normally, perilla seed powder is added at the table, but here they already mix a little in (of course, you can always add more to your taste). Even the regular sundaeguk is packed with meat, but if you want more, you can ask for extra meat when ordering. Despite being filled with pork intestines and blood sausage, there’s no strong odor or crumbly texture—just rich, hearty goodness. A sip of sundaeguk followed by a shot of soju? Just the thought is mouthwatering! The broth, heavy with fatty cuts, is especially rich and oily compared to others—a unique hallmark of this place. If you order meorigo-gi (boiled pork head meat), you’ll get a mix of cuts with different textures. The serving size is just as generous as the soup, the textures are fantastic, and the smell is minimal. For those sensitive even to mild gaminess, pair it with the squid jeotgal (salted squid) that comes as a side dish. Extra side dishes are self-serve, and rice refills are free as well.
