In hip Euljiro, Munhwaok has long been a well-known spot ⭐️. When you order joktang (ox foot soup), they serve jira (ox spleen) on the side. The flavor is a mix of liver and lung, so it can be a love-it-or-hate-it cut—but sometimes the more adventurous you are with food, the more hidden gems you discover 😉.

Ox feet are chewy and rich in collagen, giving them a satisfying, sticky texture. If you’re a fan of jokbal (braised pig’s feet) or pork skin, this will definitely hit the spot. On the other hand, if you’re sensitive to strong aromas, I’d recommend their seolleongtang (ox bone soup) with noodles instead.

True to its reputation as a seolleongtang specialist, Munhwaok also takes its kimchi seriously. Especially when you add just a little bit of kkakdugi (radish kimchi) juice into the soup—it brings out an extra layer of savory depth 🤤.
