Let me introduce “Jujeon,” a jeon (Korean pancake) restaurant located near Yaksu Station in Jung-gu, Seoul!!

When it comes to picking the best food to pair with makgeolli, the first thing that comes to mind is definitely jeon. In this video, the experience feels even more special because singer Takaya Kawasaki from Japan joins the show at Sung Si-kyung’s invitation.

Jujeon offers a wide variety of jeon, and everything tastes consistently great—making it an especially nice place to introduce Korean jeon to friends visiting from abroad. If you’re not sure what to order, start with the light, crispy, and nutty potato pancake. I also highly recommend the assorted jeon platter, where you can try several flavors at once—made with ingredients like perilla leaves, kimchi, mung beans, meat, and zucchini. They also make their own kimchi in-house, so dishes that come with kimchi are a great choice too—like tofu with kimchi or oyster bossam.

And here’s a fun Korean food tradition: the sizzling sound of jeon cooking is said to resemble the sound of rain, which is why people often say, “On rainy days, you eat jeon with makgeolli.”So if it happens to rain during your trip to Korea, how about stopping by Jujeon near Yaksu Station for a warm plate of jeon and a glass of makgeolli? 😊
