Jeju’s Hamdeok Golmok is one of the island’s Top 3 hangover soup restaurants 🍲, serving only two dishes: Hangover Soup (Haejangguk) and Beef Intestine Soup. A short menu like this is a sign of confidence — and you know what that usually means… a true hidden gem!😉 Even from early lunchtime, the restaurant is already buzzing with people, proving its popularity. One downside: they don’t do takeout (❌), but honestly, Korean soups are best enjoyed piping hot, straight from the earthenware bowl🤤.

The Haejangguk is filled with generous amounts of beef, bean sprouts, cabbage greens, and congealed blood (soondae-style), while the Intestine Soup comes with beef tripe, stomach, intestines, and radish. If you don’t eat blood, just let them know when you order, and they’ll leave it out.

One unique feature here is the perilla leaf side dish 🍃. Locals recommend placing a piece of meat from the soup on a perilla leaf, adding some salted seafood and vegetables, then wrapping it up — a combination that’s not common in typical soup restaurants. The aromatic perilla leaf and tender meat are a perfect match. Truly genius…👍🏻The broth is deeply simmered yet clear and clean, making it the ideal dish to refresh yourself after a night of drinks.
