Located near Dongseo Bowling Alley in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do, Dongseo Restaurant is famous for serving Seodaehoe Bibimbap, a true local delicacy.

A note on ordering: except for the kimchi stew, both the Seodaehoe Bibimbap and cockles must be ordered for at least two people.

The table quickly fills with hearty side dishes—cabbage kimchi, mustard leaf kimchi, stir-fried anchovies, seasoned bean sprouts, cockle salad, fish cake, seasoned chwinamul, seasoned crab, and doenjang soup. The flavors are mild and clean, giving a healthy, comforting feel. The fact that marinated crab is served as a basic side dish makes this place special. The soybean paste soup is rich with clams and crab, offering a deep seafood flavor.

The star dish, Seodaehoe Bibimbap, is a traditional Yeosu meal of thinly sliced raw seodae fish mixed with fresh vegetables and a tangy sauce made from fermented makgeolli vinegar. To eat, add rice, seaweed, and sesame oil into a large bowl and mix everything together. The fish is generous in portion, and the crisp textures of lettuce, cucumber, and cabbage add to the experience. One big spoonful delivers a harmony of sweet and sour seasoning, chewy fish, and crunchy vegetables—a special taste you can only find in Yeosu.
